Member of the renowned ballets C de la B, Koen Augustijnen joins Rosalba Torres Guerrero, wonderful performer for Rosas and numerous other stage artists, to work on shows that are like anything else. For their latest creation, Augustijnen and Torres Guerrero plunge themselves in the world of competitive boxing which is taken out from the arena and brought on stage. They explore all its aspects, from extreme physicality to the boxer and audience’s psychology. During the show, the live video highlights the showdown: zoom on the bodies, where desire flirts with danger. Violence is sublimated by its own troubling beauty: this is what fascinates the public, which plays along. On stage, five professional boxers and four dancers perform. The hidden side of the boxer is unveiled in his vulnerability, his loneliness together with the humanity of a champion.
