The texts of young Italian playwright Davide Carnevali are translated in 13 languages and presented in several international theatre festivals and seasons.
Teatrino Giullare’s theatrical research focuses on mixing arts, exploring physical limits and expressive skills and on experimenting stage artifices. This translates into an original poetics leading to theatre performances, installations, laboratories, special theatre and art projects, which have been welcomed worldwide, in 33 different countries.
Among others, Carnevali was awarded Italian Ubu Special Prize and National Critics Prize, the Jury Prize and the Brave New World Prize for direction at the 47th International MESS Theater Festival of Sarajevo.
Menelao is a contemporary reinterpretation of the myth of Atrides, as well as a clear analysis on the concept of “tragic” in the contemporary world.
