Pier Paolo Pasolini is among the few authors of the twentieth century whose existence is still acknowledged by young generations: he has not been overwhelmed by the eclipse of knowledge that led to the disappearance of a large number of voices. This survival is due – in large part – to a biographical legend, which allows to include the poet in a narrow and transgenerational pantheon, among artists, musicians, writers, etc.<\/p>\n

The ERT project, presented in the frame of the celebrations for the centenary of the birth of Pasolini, aims to conduct a direct comparison with Pasolini’s work, escaping the easier and more hasty mythologies of damnation. For the first time, will be presented on stage, simultaneously, the entire corpus of theatrical texts written by Pasolini in a very short period \u2013 the spring of 1966 \u2013 even if some of them have been reworked some years later. The six shows will mostly be led by young directors, both male and female; the fresh gaze of the new youth will try to provide an answer to the inexhaustible newness of his ethical and political lesson, which has marked more than one generation.<\/p>\n

An interdisciplinary working group is mapping out the numerous internal references within Pasolini\u2019s texts which define his fictional universe in relation to his historical reality, linking them with nowadays problems and their poetic, aesthetic and political declinations. The stimuli will be collected, discussed, and reworked by an established group of professionals in the field of direction\/choreography, dramaturgy, and stage action\/acting.<\/p>\n

The flow of research and work of these three groups will be enriched by the collaboration of international figures of theatre and research who have crossed the “Pasolini universe”.<\/p>\n
