Héritage
About this event
Cédric Eeckhout brings his mother Jo Libertiaux, who was born in 1945, to the stage. The free and independent Jo established herself alone in a man’s world.
Cédric sees her as a fighter, a heroine and as his idol. Driven by her love of life, Jo tells her story. Cédric romanticises and recounts her life, discussing themes such as female emancipation and economic, social and political history. Interweaving intimacy, emotion and humour, their voices examine what is passed on from one generation to another, in a period that seems to be in constant crisis, between climate change, the impact of the pandemic, wars, crises of solidarity, racism and sexism.
