Carolyn Carlson, an icon of contemporary dance, in an evening of improvisation, poetry and live music with Sara Simeoni and Paki Zennaro. Carlson has always preferred to speak of “visual poetry” rather than choreography: in her work, movement, words, music and imagination come together in open forms born from a dialogue with artists, places and audiences.
The Poetry Event is a unique encounter shaped through improvisation, poetry readings and live sound. In Bologna, Carlson invites two Italian artists with whom she shares a long-standing friendship and working relationship. Performer Sara Simeoni joins her with improvisations and readings, while Paki Zennaro accompanies the performance with live music.
Dance, poetry and sound intertwine in an open form where movement emerges through listening and words become a living part of the stage.
