L’albero dei corvi
[solo version]
About this event
Titled after Caspar David Friedrich’s celebrated painting, The Tree of Crows [Solo Version] is a solo performance by Fabrizio Favale, conceived here as a travelling site-specific work unfolding through the spaces of Teatro Storchi. Against a vast, empty horizon, the dancer creates and dismantles short sequences and variations, some extremely fast, others sparse and suspended, like a flying creature.
The reference to Friedrich’s Romantic landscape does not become a narrative, but rather a space of light, shadow and movement. The faster sequences tend to make individual forms disappear, creating an optical effect resembling a dark cloud in constant transformation; others seem to trace distorted branches, like the silhouette of a bare tree reaching towards the sky.
Accompanied by live handbells, the performance travels towards undefined distances, creating a rarefied, intangible and deeply atmospheric experience.
