Age

On stage, boys and girls aged between 15 and 18, on the threshold of adulthood, enter a framework of rules, questions and unexpected events. The performance is structured as an atlas: chapter by chapter, the human “specimens” are called upon to expose themselves on a stage-rink, responding live to questions about self-definition, tastes, experiences and opinions. They share an inventory of behaviours, but do not know in advance when, how or why they will be called into play.

Created in 2012 and revived by Francesca Pennini and CollettivO CineticO with a new group of teenagers, does not tell the story of this age from the outside, but observes it as it unfolds: without filters or rhetoric, balancing rigour and irony, vulnerability and the desire to step into the spotlight. Every performance is different, because the selection criteria, responses, participants and relationship with the audience all change.

The audience is not left on the outside: by observing these bodies and voices, spectators are also invited to question their own experience of being an adolescent, a parent, an adult or a spectator.
