Arte e Salute onlus is an association operating since 1999 in the field of mental health under the guidance of director Nanni Garella. Since then, the relation between Garella and the company of actors/psychiatric patients has been growing stronger. So did the collaboration between ERT Fondazione and Arte e Salute.
Li Buffoni is a comedy of the seventeenth century, a canvas of commedia dell’arte. The adaptation by Garella translates the different languages used in the text into that confused sound one can hear while walking down the city streets nowdays. “This opened up the possibility for our characters, almost all immigrants, to speak a new “linguistic koinè”, says Garella.
