Loco

Liberally inspired by Nikolai Gogol’s Diary of a Madman, this absurd tale explores the blurred line between madness and reason. The protagonist of the story, Poprichtchine, is a low-ranking civil servant who lives his life between the routine of his monotonous job and the small pleasures of a lonely man.
The discovery of an extraordinary power gives him hope of changing his destiny: winning the heart of the unattainable woman and obtaining an honourable place in society. But this “power” is also the first step towards madness, leading him to create his own version of reality: he proclaims himself “King Ferdinand VIII of Spain”.
