About this event
On the company’s thirtieth anniversary, Michele Abbondanza and Antonella Bertoni – a landmark couple in contemporary dance – entrust their direction and performance archive to another duo, Panzetti / Ticconi. Replica emerges from this encounter: a dialogue between two generations of dancers and choreographers. Not simply a revival of repertoire, but a passing on of living material: gestures, images and relationships are observed and set in motion once again. A portrait for two, between what we are and what, inevitably, in our encounter with the other, becomes something else.
Figures oscillating between human and animal, primitive and childlike, allow a dimension of artifice and magic to emerge. Panzetti/Ticconi intertwine dance, performance and visual arts, engaging here with one of the most original experiences in Italian dance theatre. The performance thus becomes a theatrical portrait, a shared journey in which memory and invention seek one another without overlapping, allowing the past to continue generating new forms in the present.
